Jordan Elder joins WOAI - KABB San Antonio

Jordan Elder is joining News 4 San Antonio WOAI and FOX 29 KABB from NewsChannel 20 WICS Fox Illinois 55 WRSP/WCCU Springfield, Illinois.

UPDATE DECEMBER 2022
Jordan Elder and Matt Roy were married December 4, 2022

Here is what Roy posted on Instagram:

"Land of Lincoln to the Lone Star State.

I’ve accepted a new job reporting for News 4 San Antonio/FOX San Antonio, where I’ll also get to learn from two top-notch investigative teams. I’ll close out my time in Springfield next week.

My experience in Illinois is something I’ll always cherish. I’ve grown immensely as a person and as a journalist thanks to the team at WICS. They always pushed me to aim higher, think bigger, and be more confident.

I’m sad to leave, but I’m so excited to keep learning and growing in Texas. Yeehaw!"

A recently departed WICS reporter also ended his social media announcement with a "Yeehaw." And he is going to the same San Antonio television station as Elder.  More on that below...

Elder joined WICS in June 2020 as a multi-media journalist (MMJ).

The Arizona State University - Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication grad was a reporter/anchor for Cronkite News on Arizona PBS while getting her master's degree from the school.

Elder interned with 12 News KPNX Phoenix, Arizona.

But wait there's more!

Matt Roy just joined News 4 San Antonio WOAI and FOX 29 KABB in 2022 but left his TV reporter fiancée, Elder, behind at his old station of NewsChannel 20 WICS Fox Illinois 55 WRSP/WCCU Springfield, Illinois.

Now they will be reunited thanks to the romantic Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. I mean can you think of anything more lovable than one of the largest, corporate TV news owners?  Talk about a warm and fuzzy company.

Broadcast Bulletin recently interviewed the television news couple (video embedded above) to find out how they met and landed at the same station right out of school and what it's like working with your significant other.

Sounds like there could be another episode on the Elder-Roy story in the future!
