Japhanie Gray is leaving KSAT San Antonio as a reporter to be the morning anchor for Graham Media Group sister-station WSLS 10 News Roanoke, Virginia.
"The original plan was to be on air one last time at KSAT Wednesday, but Mother Nature had a different plan," Gray posted on Facebook. "Due to the crazy, inclement, wintry weather, my parents and I had to hit the road a lot sooner than expected, therefore, I wasn't able to give a proper sign off which I'm bummed out about."
Gray arrived at KSAT in 2018.
She started her journey into TV broadcasting as a camera operator for KAIT 8 which serves Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. She moved up to associate producer, then producer and finally reporter/fill-in anchor before moving to KSAT.
Before television, Gray was an on-air personality for Jonesboro Radio Group stations Hot 107.5 The Party Station KDXY, Mix 106.3 KJBX and 100.5 The Eagle KEGI.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arkansas State University and earned three NATAS Mid-Atlantic Chapter Emmy Awards for her collegiate TV work.
