Jessica Coombs takes over traffic duties for Holly Stouffer on KENS San Antonio
"Yes, I'm leaving KENS 5...{co-anchors making surprised sounds}...just kidding, I'm engaged," Stouffer said gleefully on TV.
What a prankster.
Not only did Stouffer surprise San Antonio TV viewers, but she was also surprised by the marriage proposal.
Stouffer's now fiancé took her on one of their usual hikes and handed her a card with a handwritten poem in it she thought was just for Valentine's Day .
Further instructions told her to turn around and then there he was with the proposal.
Stouffer added she started bawling.
"I'm just the luckiest woman in the world that I get to love him and I can't wait to get married," Stouffer told her co-anchors and the morning news audience. "We've been together like a year now, and obviously you can tell we're very happy."
In late 2021, Stouffer switched schedules and moved from evenings to mornings for traffic anchor duty.
She joined KENS San Antonio as a reporter in July 2019.
Speaking of television engagements, this former Houston and Austin meteorologist was totally surprised by her Valentine's proposal while she was on the news set!
