Casey Claiborne announced he is leaving FOX 7 Austin KTBC weekend mornings for the main weekday morning newscast.
Here is what Claiborne posted on Facebook:
"I'M MOVING TO WEEKDAYS! Big news y'all: starting on Monday, I'm moving to Good Day Austin weekdays!
It's the "big job" I've always hoped for. I'm so excited to join Zack Shields on FOX 7, Leslie Rangel on FOX 7, Jane Lonsdale on FOX 7 AND...a person who I still can't believe I get to co-anchor with: Amanda Salinas On FOX 7, who I learned from at a news station in Dallas when I was a young college intern at UNT.
For the past 2 years I've had the best job I've ever had...producing the weekend edition of Good Day Austin. It's been a blast working with the extremely talented Meteorologist Chelsea Andrews and Jerah Collaros and getting to produce a show that was uniquely "us."
Leaving the show in the hands of the awesome Adaleigh Rowe on Fox 7 and whoever replaces me on the anchor desk. (TBA) I'll see y'all one last time on the weekend show this weekend, then I'll be on starting dark and early at 4:30 Monday morning! (I'm on a 10-day stretch here)"
Claiborne takes the anchor seat left by Dave Froehlich who moved to KHOU 11 Houston in late 2021.
He previously worked for KETK Tyler as a weekend morning anchor/reporter.
Claiborne got his start in broadcasting hosting the "Let's Talk" program Saturday mornings on 1400 AM KEBE Jacksonville, TX at the age of 16.
