Jack Williams re-joins Houston Public Media's News 88.7 KUHF

Jack Williams

Jack Williams has returned to Houston Public Media's News 88.7 KUHF as a news anchor after almost six years away.

"I feel very fortunate to have spent nearly 18 years here in Houston," Williams told mikemcguff.com when he left in 2016. "Professionally, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Personally, Houston is home now and hopefully I'll be back someday. For now though, it's off to another adventure."

As I blogged back then, Williams followed his wife who landed a big job in Omaha, Nebraska.

Sticking with his NPR roots, Williams was the managing editor for Nebraska Public Media in Lincoln. He also was a reporter/on-air host during "All Things Considered" for NET radio.

Williams had been on-air with KUHF since 2000, becoming the station's news director in 2008.

Before that he was an anchor/reporter at 740 KTRH.

His radio career began in 1994 at 710am KURV Rio Grande Valley followed by 1300 AM KVET Austin.

The Southwestern Adventist University grad has won a number of awards including a regional Edward R. Murrow.
