Gloria DeLeon, who recently was married and changed her name to Gloria Madera, announced she is leaving News 4 SA WOA and FOX29 KABB San Antonio.
Madera is now working as a PR specialist for CHRISTUS Health and The Children's Hospital of San Antonio.
"It’s so bittersweet to announce Tuesday will be my last day on-air and at KABB FOX 29 News, San Antonio & News 4 San Antonio!
I’m starting the new year with a new chapter.
Thank you for allowing me into your homes and lives. I am so forever grateful for your loyalty! Some of you have been following me from the beginning in Lubbock.
You all mean so much to me & this isn’t goodbye, just a see ya on the other side!
I’ll still keep you updated on life with Chance, Archie & Theodore [I] promise!
And I’ll let ya know where I’m headed, very soon! But for now, I hope you’ll join me on my last 2 days."
DeLeon joined the Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. owned San Antonio stations in April 2020.
Before the Alamo City, DeLeon was a morning anchor for KFOX14 in her hometown of El Paso. She started off at the Sinclair El Paso stations as a multi-media journalist for KFOX and CBS4 KDBC.
DeLeon started her TV career at NewsChannel 11 KCBD, not to be confused with El Paso's KDBC, as an anchor/reporter.
The Texas Tech University grad interned with the Nexstar owned KLBK/KAMC in Lubbock. As a student, DeLeon reported for student-run Daily Toreador and Mass Comm Television (MCTV).
