Daranesha Herron is being promoted to weekend evening anchor at KVUE Austin.

Herron anchors with Jake García and meteorologist Hunter Williams.
"I am feeling blessed and excited about this new role," Herron posted to Facebook on December 5th, 2021 when she debuted on air as KVUE's new weekend anchor. "I've been working hard on my craft and myself personally. I didn't know when this opportunity would come but I knew when it did, I would be ready."
She takes over the anchor chair from anchor Jenni Lee who was promoted to KVUE Midday weekday newscast in October 2021.
The native Houstonian was hired as a KVUE reporter in October 2019.
Before returning to Texas, Herron was a weekday morning anchor/reporter for WTVA 9 - WLOV Tupelo, Mississippi.
While pursuing her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Houston, Herron was a Houston Texans cheerleader.
Before that she attended Texas State University. She interned with FOX 26 KRIV.
