Brittney Johnson is joining NBC DFW 5 KXAS as a 10pm anchor starting September 22, 2021.
"I’m so incredibly grateful! God has blessed me with six and a half amazing years of learning, growing, serving, making new connections and telling stories at @wsoctv in my hometown," Johnson posted to Instagram. "Now He’s leading me to another dream opportunity in Dallas! And...I’ll be pushing back the time on my alarm clock as I make the switch from mornings to evenings."
Johnson is leaving WSOC 9 Charlotte, North Carolina where she has worked as an anchor/reporter since 2015.
“When I look at Brittney’s track record, I see a committed journalist who tackles important stories with tenacity wherever she’s reported,” NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 Vice President of News John Stone said in a statement. “I look forward to our audiences meeting Brittney soon and seeing for themselves what an outstanding journalist she is.”

Reporter/Fill-in Anchor - KTVE NBC 10 - Monroe, Louisiana
The Howard University grad also has a Masters Degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley. She interned with FOX 2 KTVU San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose and The Washington Post.
Johnson's last day with WSOC is August 27, 2021.
