Ashley Goudeau announces that she will be the new 5pm anchor at KVUE Austin.
"I’m so excited to announce that I am joining Bryan Mays KVUE and Erika Lopez -Meteorologist on KVUE News at 5," Goudeau posted on Facebook. "Don’t worry, I’ll still have all of your political news but I am so excited about this new role. So start your #happyhour with me!"
Goudeau swaps newscast anchoring assignments with Terri Gruca who announced earlier this week she was leaving the 5pm news to anchor the mid-day newscast.
In addition to anchoring the midday news, Goudeau also is the TEGNA station's political reporter.
Before Austin, the Lone Star Emmy Chapter award winner previously reported for KCEN Waco, Temple and Killeen.
Goudeau got her start in the Texas TV news world as an assignments editor for KIAH 39 Houston (Then KHCW).
The Galena Park ISD North Shore Senior High School grad has a broadcast journalism degree from the Dan Rather School of Communications at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.
While attending SHSU, Goudeau anchored and reported for KSHU 7. She also interned at abc13 KTRK.
