Brittany Ford joins KHOU 11

Brittany Ford, a KEYE 42 Austin Multi-media journalist (MMJ), is joining KHOU 11 Houston.

UPDATE
Brittany Ford leaving KHOU 11

UPDATE:  Ford started at KHOU on May 10, 2021.  She will report for #HTownRush which is the KHOU 11 morning newscast.

"This week will be my last at CBS Austin," Brittany posted on Facebook.  "I’m thrilled to announce I’ll be joining the incredibly talented KHOU 11 News team in Houston! Austin, you’ve been so good to me! Thank you to the viewers for welcoming me into your homes. I’m grateful for the amazing stories I had the chance to tell in Texas’ very own Capitol city!"

Only TV nerds will care about this, but it's interesting to me that she is joining KHOU, a TEGNA station, from KEYE, a Sinclair station.  Seems to me, many times these days, a reporter is moved up through the same company. Ford managed to work outside of the system in this case.

Ford has been with KEYE for two years.

Prior to Austin, Ford worked as a:

- freelance reporter-MMJ for NBC owned station KNSD San Diego

- reporter for WLUK 11 Green Bay, Wisconsin

- MMJ KVRR Fargo, North Dakota

- field producer/reporter "Prep Pigskin Report" KUSI San Diego

According to her bio, Ford covered the Steven Avery case in Wisconsin, which was featured on the "Making A Murderer" Netflix series.

The San Diego native graduated from San Diego State University.
