Meteorologist Carrigan Chauvin debuted on the CW39 Houston KIAH NO WAIT WEATHER + TRAFFIC morning newscast on Christmas Eve morning.
This might be the first time in the 15 years I have been writing this blog that a station debuted a new talent on Christmas Eve morning.
"I have been trying to find the words to describe how thankful I am... I fall speechless every time after thinking about how Christmas came early for me this year," Chauvin posted on Instagram.
Consider Chauvin an extra gift for the CW39 television audience.
Chauvin will be the second meteorologist on the CW39 Houston morning newscast which has a healthy focus on weather and traffic news. She joins chief meteorologist Adam Krueger on the show.
Krueger replaced original show meteorologist Maria Sotolongo (formerly of FOX 4 KDFW) a few months ago. Sotolongo left the television business and Houston.
Chauvin comes to Houston from KJRH 2 Tulsa, Oklahoma. She also worked for WTOK Meridian, MS.
"Incredibly blessed to be closer to home, forecast for an environment that I love, and to have the opportunity to tell your stories about how weather affects all aspects of our lives," Chauvin added to Instagram.
Home for Chauvin is Louisiana. And get this, she was born and raised in Chauvin, Louisiana! According to the Chauvin Brothers store website, Albert Eloie Chauvin became the namesake of the town back in the late 1800s.
Chauvin, the now Houston meteorologist, graduated from Mississippi State University. If you search hard enough on YouTube, you can even find video of her doing the weather on the university's student television system.
OK...enough TV talk on Christmas Eve. I am now going to eat a lot of food and candy which will make my 2021 about no wait exercise + weight loss. Especially after 2020!
