Jennifer Sanders is leaving NewsChannel 9 WSYR Syracuse, NY after nine years and returning to Texas at Nexstar sister-station KXAN Austin as weekend anchor.
WSYR reports her last day in Central New York will be May 29th, so I would guess she would we on Austin's channel 36 sometime in June.
The station even had a car farewell parade (video embedded below) for Sanders since there could be no official party thanks to COVID-19.
Before WSYR, Sanders was a multi-media journalist (MMJ) for KXII Sherman. She started her TV career as a CW33 KDAF Dallas writer/web producer. According to her bio, she started her journalism career in Seguin where she worked for a newspaper and radio station.
Sanders is a Texas Lutheran University graduate with a University of North Texas master’s degree in journalism.
