NBC Chicago WMAQ reporter Anayeli Ruiz joins KHOU 11
NBC Chicago WMAQ reporter Anayeli Ruiz has joined KHOU 11 with her first story debuting tonight at 5pm.
"I’ve got some news, I’ve joined the CBS station in Houston," Ruiz tweeted. "Chicago was an amazing experience & now I couldn’t be happier to be reporting in my home town!"
According to her bio, Ruiz joined NBC 5 and Telemundo Chicago in October of 2017.
She arrived in the Windy City from Corpus Christi where she had worked as a reporter/MMJ at KRIS for three years. While in the Coastal Bend community, Ruiz reported and anchored the news in both English and Spanish as she was part of a team that launched the 5pm and 10 pm Telemundo newscast on KRIS' sister station K09YZ-D.
Still in Corpus, Ruiz also worked for KIII as a reporter for five years.
Before that she was a reporter for KWES in Midland-Odessa.
The former channel 11 intern attended the University of Houston.
