Rachel Briers joins abc13 KTRK

Rachel Briers joins abc13 KTRK as a meteorologist after NewsWest 9 KWES Midland-Odessa in December 2018.

She left KWES in early October after a little more than two years.

"In true West TX fashion, my husband and I will be moving to Houston to continue my husband’s career in the oil business," Briers posted on Facebook at the time. "We are so excited to see what the future holds for us and I will definitely update you all on what life brings!"

Before KWES, Briers worked at KLBK in Lubbock as the weekday evening meteorologist.

The Plano native graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Atmospheric Sciences.

She interned at WFAA DFW and KBTX Bryan-College Station.

* While no formal announcement was made, Briers appears to have replaced newly named Chief Forecaster David Tillman on channel 13's weekend evening newscasts. In his new role as of January 2019, Tillman now works on the station's weekday 11am and 4pm Eyewitness News newscasts.
