KHOU 11 Great Day Houston reporter Courtney Perna is leaving for the Fort Myers/Naples, Florida area to co-host The Morning Blend on WFTX FOX 4.
Here is what she wrote on her Facebook page:
**HOUSTON, I WILL MISS YOU!! For more than three years, I’ve had the BEST JOB I could ever imagine as the reporter (and producer) for Great Day Houston and sometimes for KHOU 11 News!
From animal encounters to high-flying adventures that made my bosses cringe, to serving as emcee for numerous events and even taking a pie-in-the-face on live TV, I’ve had a blast (maybe too much fun?) and I hope you, the viewers, did too.
To my buddy, cameraman and #PartnerInCrime, Frank - you’re the best and I’m so proud of the work we’ve done! To the amazing Deborah Duncan and the rest of the GDH crew, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you and more importantly, learning from you!
My last day (on the show live) is Friday, then I’m headed to SW Florida (Fort Myers/Naples area) to co-host The Morning Blend on WFTX FOX 4, a show similar to Great Day Houston. A fellow KHOUer said it best, "I'm sad to see you go, but I'm glad to see you grow." That's exactly how I feel. Please keep in touch via social media and as always, have a Great Day, Houston!
Before Houston, Perna worked in her home state of Michigan covering hard news as a reporter/producer for WXMI FOX 17 in Grand Rapids.
