If you tune into KHOU 11's morning newscast this week and think you are watching Fox 26 KRIV from years ago, don't worry, you can still keep adding that special sauce to your coffee. It's just that former Fox 26 morning reporter Todd Duplantis is filling in on traffic duties.
"It's great to be back on the air in Houston and I'm really enjoying it," Duplantis told mikemcguff.com.
Even Katherine Whaley's fans must realize she needs time off once in a while.
What you might not know is that Duplantis also worked at KHOU 11 a few years ago as an assignments desk editor. Eventually moving to the public relations world where he still really is today. In fact, he just took a new job at the On Target Agency, a full service marketing and advertising agency owned by Scott and Tasha Steiner. Scott was the former sales manager at KRIV.
Now real Duplantis followers will remember his time as a competitor to the MTV crowd. That's right, he was spinning videos on Houston-based Hit Video USA in the 1980s. That was a full video music network that also aired in town on Channel 5. You probably only really could pick it up over the air on Houston's east side though.
Now that I've given you a little Duplantis trivia for your next house party, here is more. Which other former Fox 26 staffer also has had fill-in duties at KHOU 11? Give up? Click here to find out.
