Lana Hughes and J.P. Pritchard of 740 KTRH fame together again

Wednesday night at the famed Houston Media Round table meeting in Midtown, former 740 KTRH news anchors Lana Hughes and J.P. Pritchard reunited once again. This time, it was to be honored by former KTRH colleagues and others, "for a salute to their distinguished and sleep-deprived careers."

The Round table folks note that after 27 years together, when Lana and JP started together on the air, Ronald Reagan was president, Kathy Whitmire was mayor, Houston was still covered by two daily newspapers and we actually had professional baseball team (insert rim shot).

Some of those who turned out to honor the broadcasting legends were Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, Houston Mayor Annise Parker, Paul Bettencourt, Bill King, Lanny Griffith, Sue Davis, Doug Miller, Tracee Evans, Tim Fleck and Janice Evans.

This after the two were replaced on 740 KTRH by new host Matt Patrick in late June. The station has since dropped the News Radio moniker and is known as a News/Talk station.

If and when Lana and J.P. resurface on Houston radio, I will let you know where.
