Thursday night on 39 News, I reported on the new documentary, which is shining a bright light on what some call a broken educational system, and how it is getting a lot of buzz. Waiting for Superman tackles the problems the filmmakers see in schools and spotlights the programs they say are working. I visited Houston's YES Prep School which follows the same type of formula as the schools featured in the film. The flick is directed by David Guggenheim who was behind An Inconvenient Truth. I talked with the head of a Houston teacher's union (Houston Federation of Teachers President Gayle Fallon) who was not happy after seeing the film. READ FULL STORY
