Houston Texans announce HD games in pre-season

Riddell Houston Texans NFL Replica Mini Helmet w/Z2B MaskThere was a lot of expressed anger on the Internet last year concerning the Houston Texans pre-season games not being broadcast in high definition. Guess what? That is changing this year. The team announced it is throwing its fans HD games in pre-season 2010:

The Houston Texans' preseason will have a brand new look in 2010. For the first time ever, the team's preseason television broadcasts will be presented in high definition (HD).

Fans will be able to watch the Texans' games against the Arizona Cardinals (Aug. 14), New Orleans Saints (Aug. 21) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Sept. 2) in HD on ABC-13 (KTRK) throughout the greater Houston area. The Texans' preseason home opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 28 also will be in HD on CBS, which will broadcast the game nationally.

"We are pleased to be taking a big step forward for our fans as we present our preseason games in high definition with new music, graphics and animations," Texans president Jamey Rootes said. "The passion for our team in Houston and across the region is at an all-time high, and we think that our broadcast upgrades, especially HD, will provide an even more exciting and engaging viewing experience for our fans."
