Google Voice review

I told you a couple of years ago about a company called GrandCentral that would let you use one number to ring all your phones. Godfather of Houston Podcasting Russell Holliman wrote on my blog about it:

I've been using GrandCentral for about 6 months now and I love it. They assign you a "number for life". You then configure all of your various telephone numbers and when someone calls your GC number, they all ring. You can screen the calls, record them, and even configure your GC address book so that certain people ring on certain phones, and groups of people get different voice mail greetings. There's even a pretty good "spam" filter that sends computer calls right to voice mail.

Well now this company is owned by Google and is called Google Voice. Naturally it has been Googleized. That means it gets gourmet meals and free dry cleaning on the search engine's Mountain View, California campus. Ok...it is actually a lot more than that.
