Someone sent me the link to 93q.fm which is a great Houston 93Q and 79Q KKBQ tribute page. It links to some hilarious video of John Lander and the Q Morning Zoo folks. Remember the Tookie Bird? Lots of video and photos of him too. Classic video clips include TV news stories on the station including a KPRC Channel 2 live shot about Tiffany playing Fame City on New Year's Eve! For those of you not in Houston during the 80s and early 90s, I'm not talking about the country station from today. This was back when 93Q and 104 KRBE battled for Top 40 supremacy. And it was a great battle for radio listeners that included the radio stations producing TV shows, movie trailers, news making stunts...etc. Now 104 and Hot 95.7 KKHH duel with web sites and maybe some billboards.
