I never lived in a house growing up. It was a town house for me. So now that I live in a place where you don't share walls with your neighbors (just late night secrets), I decided to try the old Christmas tree light decoration thing out.
I thought we did a pretty good job. I took some old lights we had, went to Lowe's for some additions and took the time to plan it all out. Even put it on a timer system. My wife's mom and grandma helped make some nice red ribbons to put on the columns. Not bad I thought.
Then the neighbors down the street went out and really out did us. A freaking synchronized show with a type of lights I have never seen before. They even have an animatronic mail box that opens and closes! Oh...and don't forget the music portion. Oh well. I blew that one.
It was exciting to see Banjo Jones' peace symbol though. He claims you can see it from half a mile away! Peace dude.
As for my place, the neighbors and I have decided to call it a season for Christmas, but really go nuts on Halloween. I'm talking styrofoam tombstones , crazy lights and maybe a fog machine. It will be a big team effort. I might actually walk outside with my hockey mask on. It makes more sense than how I just wear it normally while watching television.
Any other suggestions?
