We all know Chris Doelle from Lone Star Gridiron, but he is also wearing a new hat at this year's BarCamp Houston 3.
His latest project is Newstreamz which is a hyperlocal Web site news effort in San Marcos, TX. From what Doelle says, Newstreamz is doing pretty well in that region with local news and ad sales. When I say hyper local news, I'm not joking. Doelle and crew don't bother with the AP feed realizing folks can get that news somewhere else on the Internet. The site has gone up against the traditional newspaper and has the motto "Every person should hit the newspaper sometime in their life other than when they are born or when they die."
