It happens a lot. You go to a movie and see the trailers for the upcoming films. This one looks good, that one looks great, but then you go to see the actual movie weeks later and it is totally different than the trailer! Not just in story, but the trailer has scenes and dialog that aren't even in the movie. Is Hollywood trying to trick us. Maybe.
