What is the state of blogging at this point?
For all the hype and press blogging has received over the last couple of years we really are just at the beginning of this revolution. Most people still ask "what exactly is a blog" let alone understand what a podcast is or a Wiki. You have the early adopters who think this is old hat and are now looking to the next big thing like micro blogging and streaming video. The second wave of content creators are just now hitting their stride. They are the ones driving this push to the mainstream. Then you have the late comers, the mainstream who are curious and don't want to be left behind.
What do you think the state of blogging will be in 5 years?
We might not even call it blogging five years from now, but whatever it is, this new bottom up media model will be mainstream and of course exploited by big business and traditional media. Hopefully the genie is out of the bottle and the common man will be able to keep a handle on this new found voice and influence, but I am not sure if we can. This could be a long conversation all by it's self.
