An interesting side note, I interviewed actress Shelley Duvall a few years ago. She's a fellow native Houstonian! Duvall told me that she and the actor who played her son in The Shining actually got lost in the giant maze in real life. It was built next to Kubrick's house.
She also told me that Jack Nicholson, being the big Lakers fan that he is, had game film shipped to England where they were filming so he wouldn't miss any of his favorite team.
