Movie Review: THE U.S. VS. JOHN LENNON

I headed over to the Landmark River Oaks Theater last night while that's still possible and viewed opening night of The U.S. Vs. John Lennon. Naturally as a big Beatles fan I loved it.

The movie chronicles Lennon's rise in the anti-war movement and the government's attempts to get him out of the country. Some of those interviewed drew parallels to Nixon and the current administration - that drew applause in the theater.

This is a VH1 Rock Documentary, so it is slick in presentation and gets some big time interviews. But it does present both sides of the story. G. Gordon Liddy even makes an appearance.

While I thought it moved suprisingly slow in some parts for something an MTV sister network would produce - I still enjoyed it.
