Kobain opens in Houston

The Chron's Lance Scott Walker tells us about a new Houston club called Kobain. Yes, that is with a 'K' and not a 'C' but you can see where the owners are going with this:
And yet there is another generation -- one which was born on the artistic merit of Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and 'jelly'-era Flaming Lips (back when they used to play rock music). And a couple of members of that generation have now opened a club where they're gonna play it all.

Kobain is located in the veritable impasse between Washington Avenue and Memorial Drive, where Waugh Drive exists only in double digit addresses before it splits apart into Yale and Heights Boulevard to the north.
I couldn't find a Nirvana mention in the entire post. Guess Walker took the high road on that one. According to the post, the club just had a soft open so expect this place to get more crowded as the weeks go by.

Kobain, 33 Waugh Drive. 713-862-9911. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
