The explosion of online video has made it increasingly easier -- not to mention cheaper -- to make a video and post it online for the world to see.All you need is a computer with an Internet connection. You don't need software. You don't even need a video camera.
Most digital cameras come equipped with video recording features, as do the latest cell phones. Sites such as San Mateo's YouTube and San Francisco's Jumpcut let you send video clips to the site directly from your cell phone. On Grouper, you can record from your Webcam and post it online.
If you feel like your clips aren't good enough or you don't have any, you can borrow someone else's. Jumpcut, for instance, hosts groups that share stock footage, and EyeSpot struck deals with rock bands and Hollywood studios to let its users mash up copyrighted footage.
EyeSpot, One True Media and Jumpcut are also among the sites that let you upload your clips and edit from the Web site. If you prefer to use software, all new Maciontosh computers come with Apple's iMovie, while Microsoft Windows users have Windows Movie Maker.
