A friend of mine recently bought a new car somewhere in our fine state of Texas. The problem is, the salesman first offered the sticker price. She didn't like that.
After more talking, he offered her $500 off the sticker prices. This angered her. So what did she do? Accept that price anyway? Say no thank you and leave?
No.
Instead she stood up and said, "Usually I bring my husband with me when buying a new car. All he does is sit in the corner, but I guess you need a [insert male genital name] to get a good deal!"
Good for her and the whole speech worked! That night she was emailed a much better deal. So if you are afraid to go shopping for a new car, take this anecdote with you and remember being nice doesn't work.
