AOL launches online video network of classic TV shows

I posted about this way back in November and now it's finally live. AOL, further diversifying its offerings from the old ISP days, has launched a Video On Demand network.

So if you want to watch the following shows at anytime of the day - you can:

Welcome Back, Kotter, Chico & The Man, Alice, Growing Pains, Sisters, Kung Fu, Lois & Clark, Babylon 5, Wonder Woman and many others.

But is it totally free?
More than 30 Warner shows are now available on the site for free, though they include one-to-two minutes of commercials. Advertisers include Intel, Hershey and Kraft Foods.
And you might have to fork out a credit card in the future:
AOL is reportedly considering adding a download-to-own option to the site, for which it would charge $1.99 for a TV episode.
Excuse me...now it's time for me to go watch a funny morality play with the Seavers. But wait...I have to upgrade Windows Media Player to get more DRM features.

Hmmm...maybe I'll wait. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
