Sometimes when I can't sleep I look up random items on Google. I know you're saying, "It's time to get that boy some Ambien." No thanks, I tried that in college and I used to wake up in the dorm hallway.
On the search tonight/this morning, I encountered a bizarre find. It is an advertisement from the company that helped publish White Knight In Blue Shades, the authorized biography of Texas TV personality Marvin Zindler. The odd thing was, I wasn't even trying to look Marvin up.
I work with Marvin and I didn't even know all of this. Of course you hear the "lifetime contract" stuff, but I never remember that we both attended Lamar High School.
I also didn't realize:
Marvin Zindler, the president of a corporation which failed miserably.
Marvin Zindler, a renegade from childhood, a prize fighter who won almost all of his 100 bouts. The prize being public recognition and self-identity more than money.
