My wife, our friend Neal and I headed over to the Toyota Center in downtown Houston Friday to catch U2. The wife wasn't too thrilled by the show. Thought they were preachy and didn't play what she wanted to see. I thought it was a good show, but not as good as the Pop Mart Tour in 1997 at the Astrodome. That show will always be one of my favorites.
The Irish lads have slowed down on the show aspects a bit. It was a more simple stage that extended into the audience. I believe the 2001 tour was like that too. The stage was simple, but did have some cool lighting tricks. It was a sold out show and Bono raised money for the World Bank. Our tickets each cost $160!!! Ka-ching for world peace!
The paper says Roger Clemens was there, but no sign of "The Rocket" on stage. I would love to hear Bono and him duet on a few Boy tunes.
