Former KHOU 11 Houston meteorologist Brooks Garner covered a tornado live on air that was hitting his own station at the Lake Mary FOX 35 Orlando WOFL Central Florida studios in Seminole County.
"Everybody in the FOX 35 building, get to your safe space under your desk, if you're not in a designated area," Garner said on-air during the coverage. "We're catching debris right now on the roof. Debris is on the roof right now. We're hearing...you can see the debris flying there on the camera. This is a tornado! Seek shelter immediately."
WOFL reports that the EF2 tornado touched down at 9:36 a.m., with winds peaking at 115 mph. No fatalities or injuries were reported.
Garner joined FOX 35 Orlando in 2021 from FOX 31 KDVR and KWGN Denver.
FOX 26 Houston KRIV meteorologist Allison Gargaro came to Houston from FOX 35 Orlando in 2023.
