Erin Moran is leaving CBS 11 KTVT Dallas - Fort Worth, now known as CBS News Texas, today on February 28, 2025, after more than four years where she was Weekend Evening Meteorologist.
Here is what Moran announced on social:
"When I started at CBS in 2019, my top professional goal was to work in DFW. It’s been an amazing 5+ years, but my life looks a lot different now.
I appreciate all of you who put your trust in me to give you an accurate forecast. And many of you have been here for lots of life updates, the good and the bad. I hope you’ll stick around, as I’m sure we’ll still be sharing plenty.
I’m looking forward to having the chance to give more of myself to our family. The greatest job I’ve ever had is being mama to my girl and my boy."
Life looks different for Moran and her husband, WFAA 8 sports anchor/reporter Mike Leslie, now they have two children. Elena was born in August 2021, while her brother Brayden arrived in September 2024.
Moran joined KTVT in December 2019 as a freelance meteorologist before being promoted to weekend evening meteorologist in February 2020.
Before arriving in the DFW Metroplex, Moran spent three years as the weekday morning meteorologist at KXXV 25 Waco-Temple-Killeen.
Prior to her time in Texas, Moran worked as a meteorologist and traffic anchor at WBTW 13 Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The Boston native’s television career began on the news side. After earning a degree in communication from Westfield State University in Massachusetts, she worked as a production assistant before becoming a reporter, covering news at stations in Springfield, Massachusetts; Albany, New York; and Charlotte, North Carolina. It was in Charlotte that she discovered her passion for weather, thanks to the guidance of a mentor who encouraged her to pursue meteorology.
While working full-time in Myrtle Beach, Moran completed her broadcast meteorology certification through Mississippi State University.
