Telemundo Houston KTMD announced Alejandro Mendoza has joined the NBCUniversal station as an Anchor/Reporter.
Mendoza is co-anchoring the 5pm and 10pm newscasts alongside Crystal Ayala, meteorologist Carlos Robles and Lead Sports Anchor Ubaldo Martinez.
He has worked as a news anchor at KMEX Univision 34 Los Angeles and KDTV Univision 14 San Francisco. He also worked as a news correspondent for "Primer Impacto" based in Mexico City.
Prior to Univision, he worked for Televisa as a news reporter in Monterrey, Mexico.
Mendoza has won multiple Emmys for his reporting, including an Edward R. Murrow. He is a graduate of La Universida Autónoma de Nuevo León.
His first day was Monday.
Mendoza fills the vacant slot left by Martin Berlanga last August.
