Keli Rabon |
Keli Rabon is back for more Houston TV...this time at KHOU 11.
"Who," you are asking right now?
Let's go back to just last year, when I wrote Keli Rabon is coming to KTRK abc13 from Denver's KMGH. She started work at channel 13 right near the beginning of the summer 2015 and by September she was gone.
Poof...just like that.
UPDATE
A source close to Rabon has filled me in on why she left KTRK after months on the job. Apparently Rabon felt the job did not turn out as promised. Rabon, who has been a longtime investigative reporter, wanted to focus on that kind of journalism while the station had other plans.
To give her credit, Rabon's predecessor, Brian Collister, only stayed a short time at 13 Undercover as well. No one replaced her.
In the meantime, she got married and had a baby.
Now we learn Rabon is joining KHOU 11's investigative department.
Prior to Denver, the Schulenburg, TX native was the Chief Investigative Reporter at KVUE in Austin for less than a year.
Before Austin, Rabon worked as an investigative reporter for WREG Memphis. She was also previously a reporter at WLOX Biloxi/Gulfport/Pascagoula in Mississippi.
Rabon interned for both Fox News and WOAI San Antonio and is a graduate of Texas Lutheran University.
According to Rabon's bio, she's been honored with some big time awards like the 2014 duPont-Columbia Award, one National and two Regional RTNDA Murrow Awards for Investigative Reporting; twice a Finalist for the Livingston Award for Young Journalists; two Gracie Awards for Investigative Reporting from the Alliance for Women in Media; the Sigma Delta Chi National Award for Public Service In Television Journalism and the Sigma Delta Chi National Award for Investigative Reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists; a four-time finalist for Investigative Reporters & Editors Award for Investigative Reporting, and has won several regional journalism awards including three Emmys.
