Bob Allen launches new KHOU sports show: KHOU 11 Sports Extra

KHOU 11 Sports Extra with Bob Allen to air Sunday nights at 10:25

Just noticed on YouTube that KHOU 11 has uploaded a new promo for a new Bob Allen hosted sports show called KHOU 11 Sports Extra (technically they uploaded two videos that are the same). The video postings say the new show will air Sundays 10:25pm starting August 4th*.

That puts Allen against his old station, abc13 KTRK's Inside the Game, and KPRC's long running Sports Sunday. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember KHOU having a Sunday night sports show in the past like the other stations.

I'm guessing the station feels Allen can use all of his knowledge and contacts to pull in the sports interviews and viewers.

UPDATE
Former Houston Texan and SportsRadio 610 KILT host Seth Payne will be co-hosting with Allen starting this Sunday.

  1. No, I don't ever recall KHOU having a Sunday sports show. KRIV used to called their Sports Show, "Fox Sports Xtra" until that doofus GM cancelled that show.

  2. Didn't Dan Patrick do a Sunday show during the Love Ya Blue days during his tenure at KHOU?

  3. This will be absolutely unwatchable. Bob Allen has been phoning it in for years and is more worried about being a celebrity than working. I think it's funny how he's a fan on the air. Like a 60-something year old guy wears his emotions on his sleeve over football.

  4. Are Tony Kubec and Wade Phillips with other teams now? Where are they and what are they doing?
