KPRC 2 brings in Camille Williams from Fox 7 KTBC

Camille Williams moves from Fox 7 KTBC Austin to KPRC 2 Houston

UPDATE AUGUST 02, 2013
KPRC's Camille Williams Hepola & KHOU's Jeff McShan head to Harris County District Attorney's Office

So popular KPRC 2 reporter Nefertiti Jáquez heads off to NBC10 News WCAU Philadelphia and now the Houston Post Newsweek station has found a replacement (whether permanent or freelance...I don't know at this point).

That replacement is Camille Williams who has popped up on the Houston NBC affiliate in the last few days and only had to jump on Highway 290 to get here. Williams was just previously at Fox 7 KTBC Austin.

Thanks to Bill Church's excellent (and recently shuttered) Austin TV blog, we learn that Williams is married to former KVUE sports reporter Cory Hepola. Hepola just recently joined Comcast SportsNet Houston from Austin.

Church wondered if/when Williams would be coming to H-town. Now he has his answer. I honestly thought Williams would be replacing Kristin Kane after she left Fox 26 KRIV. Since they both worked for Fox, I just assumed it would be a company transfer. So now you know not to make any bets on my Super Bowl predictions.

Back to Williams, according to her bio, she joined the FOX 7 News team in April 2010 as a General Assignment Reporter. Before that she worked as an anchor/reporter at WETM in Elmira, NY and WJHG in Panama City Beach, Florida. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Psychology. And another Houston link, she has a brother who lives here.

Below is an embedded video of Williams's KTBC reporting:
