VIDEO: TMZ's Harvey Levin talks journalistic side of celeb gossip

TMZ has pretty much taken over the Hollywood news world over the last few years. What started out as a website, has morphed into a TV show, live streaming show, satellite radio show...etc.

But you might not know that much about the site. TMZ rose from the ashes of the television show Celebrity Justice which Harvey Levin ran for Time Warner. Levin stayed around and used the staff from that show to start TMZ.

For you journalism junkies, here (embedded above) is Mr. Levin speaking to University of Chicago Law Students. In the talk, Levin lowers the curtain to show us how decisions are made editorially. Believe it or not, Levin wants to show he has a hear and has turned down stories he had a bad feeling about. One of those stories involved a Miss Britney Spears and Michael Jackson.

If you can't get enough of Levin and TMZ, here is a more no holds barred look at the site on the Howard Stern show (NSFW obviously). Click for Part 1 of 3.
