Juarez joined KVEO and CBS 4 as sports director in January 2022, returning to a market.
A Grand Rapids, Michigan native, Juarez previously spent four years in the Rio Grande Valley as a bilingual sports anchor and reporter for KRGV Channel 5 News.
Before rejoining the Valley stations, Juarez worked at WOOD-TV, the NBC affiliate in his hometown of Grand Rapids, where he served as a general assignment reporter. During his tenure there, he became the station’s first reporter to regularly produce Spanish-language stories.
He also served as a sports reporter at WLFI in Lafayette, Indiana.
Juarez discovered his passion for sports journalism at an early age, inspired by a conversation with his second-grade teacher in the late 1990s. While still in high school, he landed his first job in the field as a sports clerk at The Grand Rapids Press, answering phones and taking stats.
Juarez is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2011. He also interned at KFOR News 4 in Oklahoma City and at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids.
