Shelby Coppedge joins Houston Astros games as fill-in host

Shelby Coppedge announced she is joining Space City Home Network as a fill-in co-host with Julia Morales Clark for the Houston Astros pre- and post-game shows.

Mike Stanton no longer on Houston Astros TV shows

"Sitting in the Astrodome stands as a young kid, I definitely never thought I’d one day help cover a now 2x World Series Championship team," Coppedge posted on social.  "I am incredibly grateful to the SCHN leadership and Astros Organization for granting me this opportunity. See y’all at Daikin Park!"

Coppedge is a sports broadcaster and volleyball analyst whose career spans elite collegiate, professional, and international arenas. She currently serves as a play-by-play announcer and analyst for League One Volleyball (LOVB).

In addition to her work with LOVB, Coppedge has been a volleyball analyst for Volleyball World since March 2024. Her assignments include covering the 2024 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) tournament in Macau, China—an Olympic qualifier—and providing remote commentary for premier Italian League matches.

Coppedge’s national profile has grown through her ongoing role with ESPN, where, since 2022, she has served as a color analyst and sideline reporter for volleyball on ESPN, the SEC Network, and the ACC Network. Her ESPN assignments also include high school football coverage, NCAA Tournament regionals, and marquee events such as the Under Armour Next All-America Volleyball Matches and the 3X3U Basketball Championships.

Since 2023, Coppedge has also worked with the Houston Texans as a freelance sideline reporter and studio host, while contributing to Bally Sports Southwest and its regional affiliates. Her coverage includes Texas high school football, the San Antonio Spurs, and play-by-play for G-League Austin Spurs broadcasts.

Previously, Coppedge served as a voice for the Sun Belt Conference, covering championship tournaments in indoor and beach volleyball as well as men’s and women’s basketball. She has also held analyst and host roles with the Big 12 Conference, notably for the Dr. Pepper Football Championship Game and Big 12 Now broadcasts on ESPN+.

A graduate of Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, Coppedge was a Division I volleyball student-athlete, earning Southland Conference Academic Honor Roll honors and contributing as a member of the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
