Familiar faces are moving around and returning to the ABC-7 KVIA El Paso airwaves.
"Good Morning El Paso" reporter and Noon News Anchor Isabella Martinez is leaving GMEP to work on a new station venture, "7 in the City."
And Mark Ross, who retired from the 4 p.m. newscast anchor role in January 2024, is back at KVIA.
"I thought I was through with TV news, but just like Al Pacino said in The Godfather Part III, 'Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in,'" Ross told mikemcguff.com. "GM Brenda De Anda-Swann called me last April 1 and asked if I was enjoying retirement. Then she pitched me the Sunday Xtra gig. After discussing it with my better half, I said yes. It's the best of both worlds. I work 3 days a week (about 15 to 20 hours), mostly from home, then tape the show on Friday morning. So I guess you can say I'm semi-retired."
Another change I blogged about earlier this month is that Marcel Clarke was hired to replace Stephanie Valle, who left the TV business at the end of December.
