Stephanie Valle announced last week that she will be stepping down from her role as the co-anchor with Paul Cicala for ABC-7 KVIA El Paso's 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts.

Her final day is set for early January 2025.
Here is what Valle told viewers on-air:
"After 23 years and more than half my life, I will soon be moving on from KVIA.
Now, today is not my last day here at ABC-7, but I did want to give you all notice as I begin this transition from my career on air and in your homes, into a life that will give me more time to be with my family, which is why I am choosing to take a step back.
The farewells will be coming soon, but I did want to thank all of you for trusting me to bring you the news every night, and for sharing your stories with me over the last two decades. And my heart is racing."
Valle began her journey with KVIA as an unpaid intern in 2001 while attending The University of Texas at El Paso.
Over the years, she steadily advanced through the ranks, starting as a general assignment reporter and weekend morning anchor until 2008.
She later transitioned to the roles of morning reporter and anchor/producer for ABC-7 at Noon, which she held until 2014.
In 2015, she took on the co-anchor role for "Good Morning El Paso," eventually becoming the show’s Executive Producer. By 2019, she had been promoted to News Operations Manager and co-anchor for ABC-7 at 4.
In January 2020, Valle became the station's weeknight co-anchor, succeeding longtime anchor Estela Casas.
Valle has earned numerous accolades throughout her career, including the RTDNA Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Podcast in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Her 2017 in-depth reporting on opioid-dependent newborns earned her the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters’ (now Texas Association of Broadcasters) award for Best Series.
The same year, the Good Morning El Paso team she led received the TAPB award for Best Morning Newscast. Valle has also been recognized by local publications such as the El Paso Times, The City Magazine, and What's Up, El Paso Inc.’s lifestyle magazine.
