Courtney Fischer leaves ABC13 Houston

Courtney Fischer has left her morning reporter position with ABC13 KTRK Houston, where she has been since August 2015.

I hear Fischer will leave the TV biz for a position with Harris County.

Fischer joins morning anchor Jacob Rascon, who also leaves ABC13 in December 2024. Here are other KTRK employees who are leaving this month.

Not only is Fischer a reporter and fill-in anchor, but she's also a national figure as the host and creator of the true-crime "Unsolved" series airing on Hulu. She also contributes to the station's most infamous Houston murder series, "Texas True Crime."

Let me tell you, juggling between doing early morning news reporting and being in charge of a Hulu show must not have been easy. Kudos to her.

Fischer has also been busy raising son Quinn, born in 2021.

Before Houston, the EMMY-winning reporter worked for Pittsburgh's Action News 4 WTAE. She also worked for WLEX Lexington, Kentucky, and WEHT Evansville, Indiana.

A native of Chicago, Fischer is a graduate of DePauw University.

According to her bio, Fischer lives in The Heights with her husband, son Quinn, and Pomeranian Loretta Lynn.
