Mackailyn Johnson, a THV11 KTHV Little Rock, Arkansas reporter, announced she is moving to Houston, and what she said certainly suggests we will see her on TV here.
Here is what Johnson wrote on social:
"After three incredible years at THV11, it's time for me to head back home to Houston. Moving from Texas to Arkansas was the biggest leap I’ve taken as an adult, and it truly paid off.
I’ve told stories I will hold on to for a lifetime and made friends who mean so much to me. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and share the stories of this amazing community. The people I’ve met, and the memories I’ll take with me are truly priceless.
While I’m sad to leave, I’m also excited to return home, where *new* adventures await. I know it’s going to be a beautiful next chapter. One that I’d love for you to join me along!
My last day at THV11 will be Saturday, January 4th. I’ll hope you join us on Wake Up Central these next two weeks, then of course for two hours on Saturday! Thank you for welcoming me into your lives, and I hope we can stay connected!"
KTHV is owned by TEGNA, so is Johnson joining sister station KHOU 11? Stay tuned. And just to be clear, I've seen this kind of thing happen before, and the reporter ends up at a KHOU competitor.
Johnson joined THV11 in January 2022 from KSAN San Angelo as a weekend anchor.
The Sam Houston State University and Oak Ridge High School in Conroe grad started her TV career with KTEN News Sherman / Denison.
