Erika Harris returns to KFDM 6 Beaumont in September 2024 as a weekend anchor.
"It is a homecoming for me! KFDM is where I was first introduced to the Southeast Texas community as a news reporter," Harris said. "I am back where I belong—on the anchor desk, delivering the news without bias but with uncompromising integrity and passion."
This is a return to KFDM for Harris because, in 2020, she took a break from TV news and started the Harris Consulting marketing and public relations firm.
Harris has lived in Southeast Texas since 1999 and has worked for KFDM, FOX 4 KBTV, and KBMT 12News.
And the accolades keep coming for Harris upon her TV return. At the 5th annual BBB of Southeast Texas Professional Women's Conference, she was honored with the Women of Integrity Award.
No stranger to awards, Harris has earned the Edward R. Murrow Award, several SETX Press Club Awards, and the Lone Star EMMY Award.
A Houston native, Harris is a Texas Southern University grad who began her broadcasting career with the school's KTSU 90.9 FM. As a student, she also worked for FOX 26 Houston as a morning news show associate producer.
