Kayleigh Thomas joins KBTX's Brazos Valley This Morning

Kayleigh Thomas

Kayleigh Thomas takes over the KBTX 3 Brazos Valley This Morning meteorologist spot after Max Crawford moved to the evening chief meteorologist position.

She joins anchors Karla Castillo and Justin Dorsey.

Here is what Thomas posted on Facebook:

"It's time to set the permanent 1am alarm!

I am excited to announce that I will be stepping into a new role here at KBTX as your morning meteorologist on Brazos Valley This Morning! Chief

Meteorologist Max Crawford is leaving behind some big BVTM shoes to fill, but I promise to work on my dad jokes and increase my coffee consumption so

it'll be like he never left (And he didn’t, you can still catch him on the evening shows)!

I can't wait to wake up with you each morning, Brazos Valley!"

Crawford took over for Shel Winkley, who left the TV business in April 2024 but remains in the Bryan-College Station area.

Thomas joined the KBTX weather team in September 2022, forecasting the noon and 4pm newscasts Monday through Thursday and the 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm newscasts Friday.

The Deer Park, TX-raised meteorologist previously worked for KTAB - KRBC Abilene.

She is a Texas A&M University grad.
