Neal Barton is stepping away from the KETK-FOX51 Tyler anchor desk after 20 years with the East Texas station on Friday, January 26, 2004.

Barton serves as an evening news anchor and the news director, according to his LinkedIn profile and Talenttapes account.

Dallas - Fort Worth television viewers will recognize Barton from his previous job as the chief meteorologist of what was then called CBS 11 KTVT.

In fact, before KETK, Barton was always a meteorologist:

KTVE Monroe, LA - Chief Meteorologist - April 1986 to December 1989

KTBC 7 Austin - Weekend Meteorologist Austin, TX - December 1984 to April 1985

Barton also served as a guest meteorologist on ABC’s “Good Morning America” from 1992 to 1995.

In addition to his involvement in the regular evening newscasts, Neal also dedicated his efforts to producing weekly "East Texas In Focus" episodes.

He also expressed his opinions on regular segments of "Neal Barton’s Point of View."

Additionally, you might find him going live in various towns for the "Small Town Salute Live" segments.

His "Neal’s Wheels" collected bike donations for local children in need. Thanks to the generosity of the community, the last "Neal’s Wheels" achieved a record-breaking collection of 206 bikes, scooters, and skateboards for kids in need.
