A FOX 26 Houston KRIV morning entertainment segment has grown into a new half-hour show that has premiered on the station and FOX 7 Austin KTBC.
"The Backstage Experience" debuted last week on both stations (plus KRIV sister station My20 KTXH) and is hosted by BackstageOL.com owners Dave Morales and Jon Stenvall.
"After years of development, we are beyond excited to bring this new weekly tv concept to life," Morales told mikemcguff.com. "The Backstage Experience is all things pop culture- movies, music, streaming and gaming! Our celebrity interviews are a big part - Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie and Denzel Washington appear in our first episode! We can't thank the amazing team at FOX enough for their support!"
The Backstage Experience can be seen on BOTH FOX stations in Houston (KTXH and KRIV) on the following days and times:
Thursday: 9PM on KTXH (My20)
Saturday: 11AM on KTXH (My20)
Sunday: 11PM on KRIV (Fox 26)
In Austin, THE BACKSTAGE EXPERIENCE will air as follows on FOX 7 KTBC:
Fridays at 10:30pm
Sundays at 1130pm
The duo launched BackstageOL, with the channel 26 "Backstage" segment in June 2011.
Hailing from Houston, Morales's radio career took him to such stations as San Francisco's WiLD 94.9 KYLD, Los Angeles' Power 106 KPWR, Dallas' 106.1 KISS FM KHKS and his hometown's 104.1 KRBE. Each week, he still hosts the "The Backstage Experience" on 106.1 KISS FM.
Morales has been a member of The Houston Film Critics Society since 2011. Since 2014, Morales Morales has also been a voting member for both the TV and Film Branch of the Critics Choice Association.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field, Dave Morales was nominated for the 2023 Press Award, to be presented at the 60th annual International Cinematographers Guild's Publicists Awards.
Stenvall is a graduate of the Bauer School of Business at the University of Houston where he studied Global Energy Management (Finance). He is also a voting member of the Critics Choice Awards.
